ICD-10
The VHA Georgia ICD-10 Advisory Group, which consists of member HIM leaders and other key member executives, was created in 2011 to help lead and direct VHA Georgia’s preparation for the ICD-10 transition on October 1, 2013. This group began meeting together in April 2011 and recommended the services that VHA Georgia members most needed to successfully prepare for the transition to ICD-10. As a result of the group’s recommendations, Phoenix Health Care Management Services is now working in conjunction with First Class Solutions, Inc. and other VHA contracted suppliers to provide the following support services to VHA Georgia and Phoenix members:
- ICD-10 assessments for hospitals and physicians
- High level and mid-level hospital and physician education on ICD-10
- Coder 5-day boot camp training for ICD-10 with hospital and physician office staff*
- Coder skill assessments
- A coder staffing “pool”*
- Coder school and apprentice program curriculums
- Discounts on ICD-10 books/training materials
- Fiscal and Managed Care Contracting Advisory services
- ICD-10 best practice information and sharing among other participating members
